I was fortunate enough to be promoted into this position from serving as one of the first four Community Managers shortly after the Social Response Team was formed at this corporation. I noticed an opportunity for a supervisory role, took the lead on building the role, presented how the role would look to leaders, and was ultimately given the responsibilities. While at McDonald's Corporation through Jeffrey M, I was fortunate enough to work on many social campaigns. My absolute favorite was the #imlovinit24 campaign that happened in 2015. McDonald's was introducing itself on social media in such a great way, by going to 24 countries over a span of 24 hours and presenting 24 acts of kindness to locals. In this campaign, creating the social posts and engaging with global consumers who were surprised with the kind acts was the best part. In addition, seeing how quickly the reach, impressions, engagement, following, and discussions on social for the brand grew and turned more positive was amazing and very exciting. Other campaigns I was fortunate enough to work on include All Day Breakfast, Angry Birds, Olympics 2016, Minions, Peanuts, and #SXSW for 2015 and 2016.
Working with the newly formed digital teams in the other areas of the world and seeing how one message can be conveyed differently per culture was a great learning experience. Creating organic responses for each person who was involved in receiving the acts of kindness in real time and keeping the momentum and brand love going was a great experience!
